Ingredients

  • 1 banana sliced and frozen (see notes)
  • 1 orange peeled, sectioned, and frozen
  • ½ cup almond milk**
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

Optional

  • collagen powder or protein powder

Instructions

  • Place almond milk and vanilla in the bowl of a blender followed by the remaining ingredients.
  • Blend on high until smooth and creamy.

Notes

  • Using frozen bananas and frozen oranges allows us to skip the need for ice cubes. Slice the banana and section the fresh oranges and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place in the freezer until frozen solid then transfer the fruit to a freezer-safe ziploc bag.
  • This recipe relies on the natural sweetness of fresh fruit. Feel free to add a little bit of the sweetener of your choice like maple syrupagave nectar, or honey to make it a little sweeter.
  • Feel free to add collagen or protein powder.
  • **Adjust the amount of almond milk based on the desire for a thicker or thinner smoothie.
  • If you don't have a blender, you can whip this up in the food processor!
