  • Add water, organic cane sugar, cinnamon sticks, and vanilla extract to a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat and occasionally stir until sugar dissolves. Turn down the heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove from heat. Allow to cool completely.
  • Strain into a clean and sterile airtight container or glass jar. Store in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.

Notes

  • You can play with flavor options by using a different type of sugar. Maple syrup, coconut sugar, or honey can slightly alter the final product.
  • For a thicker cinnamon syrup, use a 2:1 sugar-to-water ratio.
