Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons tamari or gluten-free soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil or olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 ½ lbs ground turkey or ground chicken

Instructions

  • Combine the tamari, avocado oil, turmeric, ginger, garlic, salt, and pepper in a gallon-size freezer bag. Seal and shake to mix.
  • Add the ground meat to the bag, pressing out excess air before sealing.
  • Massage the bag so the marinade is worked through the meat. Lay flat on a baking sheet and freeze until solid.
  • When ready to cook, thaw fully in the refrigerator overnight, then cook in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking up as it browns, until no longer pink.
  • Serve over rice, cauliflower rice, or quinoa. Add roasted vegetables of choice if desired.

Notes

Storage: Store frozen meal-prep bag in freezer for up to 3 months.
Once defrosted and cooked, store cooled leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Reheating: Reheat cooked leftovers in a skillet with a splash of water, stirring often over a medium-high heat, until warmed through.
