Ingredients

  • ½ cup hulled hemp seeds (hemp hearts)
  • 4 cups water
  • Sweetener, optional such as 1-2 dates or 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract optional
  • Pinch of salt optional

Instructions

  • Place the hemp seeds and water into a high-speed blender. If you're using any sweeteners, vanilla extract, or a pinch of salt, add them at this time.
  • Blend the mixture on high speed for about 1-2 minutes, or until the seeds are fully broken down and the mixture looks creamy.
  • You can drink the hemp milk as is, but if you prefer a smoother texture, strain the mixture through a nut milk bag, cheesecloth, or a fine mesh sieve. This removes any remaining seed pulp.
  • Pour the milk into a sealed container and refrigerate. Hemp milk is best used in the first few days as it does not have preservatives. Shake well before each use, as it will separate over time.

Notes

To store: Keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. Shake before use.
