Hibiscus Simple Syrup

  • Place one cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add hibiscus tea. Allow the tea to steep for 10 minutes.
  • Remove the tea bags and add one cup of sugar, stirring until the sugar dissolves. (If using dried hibiscus petals, use a fine mesh sieve to strain out the tea.)

  • Let the syrup cool completely. Then transfer to an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.
